چکیده

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the preventive effects Urtica dioica (UD) on muscle ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. A total 27 male Wistar rats were divided into three groups as control group (1), I/R + saline (2), and I/R+UD (3). Group 1 did not receive any treatment. 2 was administered a 2mL/kg (1mL/kg before ischemia mL/kg after reperfusion), 3 given 2mL UD 1mL/kg reperfusion) Saline via intraesophageal canula once day for five days. At end days, all exposed 60 min followed by reperfusion bilateral hindlimbs induced using tourniquet. Muscle tissue histopathologies evaluated light microscopy. Furthermore, oxidative/nitrosative stress biomarkers such catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA), nitrotyrosine (3-NT), nitric oxide (NO), myeloperoxidase (MPO) an inflammatory marker in samples measured. treatment significantly decreased biomarker levels MPO (p<0.05). We established that could alleviate injury inhibiting inflammation stress.

Synergism effects of pioglitazone and Urtica dioica extract in streptozotocin-induced nephropathy via attenuation of oxidative stress

Objective(s): Hyperglycemia promotes oxidative stress that plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of Diabetic nephropathy (DN). In this study, we investigated the synergism effects of hydroalcoholic extract of Urtica dioica and pioglitazone (PIO) on the prevention of DN in streptozotocin induced-diabetic mice. Materials and Methods: Forty-two mice were divided into six groups as follows: non-...

Effects of Urtica dioica on hepatic ischemia‐reperfusion injury in rats

OBJECTIVES To evaluate the effects of Urtica dioica on hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury. METHODS Thirty adult male Wistar albino rats were divided into three groups: sham group (group 1), control group (group 2), and Urtica dioica group (group 3). All the rats were exposed to hepatic ischemia for 60 min, followed by 60 min of reperfusion. In group 2, a total of 2 ml/kg 0.9% saline solution...
